Chris Huhne MP, Shadow Environment Secretary, Liberal Democrats
Huhne experienced quite a considerable career outside of politics prior to being elected. Spending almost two decades as a financial and economic journalist, he then spent a further five years founding and building one of the largest teams of economists in the City of London. In 1999, Huhne was elected to the European Parliament where he was the Pan-European Liberal group’s Economic Spokesman. 2005 saw Chris elected as MP for Eastleigh and was Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury before taking on the environment portfolio. He is currently a candidate for the leadership of his party.
